- Cultivated by indigenous Mesoamerican peoples for 1500 years, in its country of origin, Guatemala, it is given a central place in their food.
- This rather rare banana variety has many similarities with the Hubbard squash.
- Of greyish or greenish blue colour, this squash with a smooth and very tough epidermis harbours a flesh with a sweet flavor.
- Its yellow-orange flesh is dry, firm and non-fibrous.
Use:
- Perfect for all types of desserts; pies, cakes, jams
- Excellent in soup
- Succulent in puree and gratin
