Giant Squash – (Cucurbita maxima)
Storage: from 3 to 6 months.
- This relatively large squash with orange and warty skin is very hard and represents a serious challenge when cutting.
- Little tip: put the squash in a bag and throw it on the ground (not on the kitchen ceramics!) and cook the squash with the skin. Once cooked, the flesh will easily detach itself from the skin effortlessly.
- Its flesh is defined as dark orange, fine-grained, with a sweet and slightly sweet flavour.
- It is perfect to make succulent accompaniments like; French fries
- A gratin
- A puree
- A soup
